Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Full-Time Night Shift Warehouse Unloader, you work an 8-hour overnight shift inside our package center, leading the high-velocity inbound unload operation that processes all trailers arriving during the night sort window and sets up the entire sort floor for the day ahead.

  • High-Speed Trailer Unloading: Pull packages from fully loaded 53-foot inbound trailers at a sustained rate across a full 8-hour shift, placing every parcel label-side up on the inbound conveyor belt to maintain sort floor throughput targets through the peak overnight window.
  • Inbound Freight Verification: Identify and flag trailer shortages, damaged freight, and hazmat packages at the point of unload before any problem item enters the main sort flow, protecting downstream sort accuracy and compliance.
  • Dock Safety Leadership: Model UPS safety protocols — trailer chocking, dock plate seating, and heavy-lift team technique — for newer associates in the unload area, setting the standard that keeps the night shift injury-free shift after shift.
